Adam Gibbs

Black British conductor and violist Adam Gibbs studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Academy of Music.
As an RCS Trust scholar and recipient of the Hugh S Robertson Prize for conducting, Adam had the opportunity to conduct the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and the orchestra of Scottish Opera.
Adam has studied with an array of conductors including Ilan Volkov, Martyn Brabbins, Thomas Sondergard, Kevin John Edusei, Mark Wigglesworth, and Antony Hermus - to whom Adam also served as assistant conductor at the BBCSSO, English National Opera, and Chineke! Orchestra.
Last season, Adam has recently made his conducting debut at the Southbank Centre to a sold out Purcell Room, working with genre-liberated ensemble Project Instrumental on Music of the Unseen. He also conducted Multi-Story orchestra on performances of Verified and The Endz at the Queen Elizabeth hall – receiving a 4 star review at The Times.
Later this season, Adam will assist Andrew Gram at Chineke! and make his debut with Southbank Sinfonia.
